Rachel Perry (Welty) is known for, among other works, her wall drawings/installations using common objects such as bread bag tags, 'twist'ems' and fruit stickers. This print was made by placing an assortment of bread bag tags on a copper plate coated with a photosensitive resist. Exposed to UV light, the emulsion was hardened around each tag. When developed, the emulsion under each tag washed away revealing the copper plate underneath. Etched deeply first and then etched with aquatint, the resultant print in white ink on a warm chine collé suggests the physical presence of each tag on the sheet. There are 88 tags depicted in the print and not one is identical to another. The image measures 24 x 18 inches on a 30 x 22.5 inche sheet of Rives BFK 400gm/2. The plate was printed in an edition of 30.
