Leaf in Shadow

A lyrical sugar lift and aquatint etching, "Leaf In Shadow" is a sensitive abstract nature study, a contemplation of the healing power of plants in cadmium red deep and solferino violet. It is printed on both sides of a sheet of vellum, signed in pencil lower right corner. Nancy Azara is interested in time in relation to memory, personal history and her own mortality. In this suite of aquatints, she uses the leaf as a recurring theme; as a metaphor, a self portrait, a "stand in " for herself. Azara exhibits nationally and internationally.
