This burin engraving was done as an engraving exercise directed by Stanley William Hayter when the artist studied at Atelier 17 in Paris in 1980/81. After the directives given by Hayter were fulfilled, the artist continued working on the plate adding layers of line to further complicate the visual space. Stroud later found the plate in his Boston studio in 2016 and decided to print an edition of 50.
