Origami is a hand-pulled mezzotint by Guntar Sietins. This impression is #8 of 40. Guntars Sietins was born on October 23, 1962 in Kuldiga, Latvia. Since 1986 he has kept up a full schedule of exhibitions in Europe, where his prints often win prizes. He is also professor of Graphic Art at the Latvian Academy of Art, where he is currently department head. His prints are in numerous museums in Europe. Guntars Sietins is one of the finest graphic artists of his generation. Using the difficult medium of mezzotint, he combines hyper-realism and surrealism to create a very distinct aesthetic. Sietins transforms reality into a world of surreal objects that exist outside normal confines of time and gravity. Recent awards include: 2017 - International Mezzotint Festival Prize
