Comment from the artist: The east side of the Sierra Nevada gets overlooked much of the time. It is less flashy but very beautiful. In the fall the aspens stand in sharp contrast to the soft hues of the leafless stems of willow and cottonwood. The shrubby plants and grasslands have hues of purple, pink, yellow, and gold, which deliver a magical contrast to the whites of the aspens.
