A Centennial Celebration of Block Prints in Wichita

 

Roger Genser proprietor of The Prints and the Pauper in Santa Monica, CA is an expert woodblock prints. He is the author of a catalogue raisonne on the prints of Frances Gearhart, a member of the International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA), and an exhibitor here on OnPaper.Art.

 

On June 4, Roger will be a speaker at the Wichita Museum’s Print Forum on Woodblock Prints. The Museum’s extensive collection of woodblock prints makes it a leading resource and center of scholarship for these prints. Genser will be joined by Josie Lopez, Curator at the Albuquerque Museum, and art historian Barbara Thompson for an afternoon of illustrated talks which expand on the Museum’s exhibitions “The International Block Print Renaissance Then and Now: A Centennial Celebration of Block Prints in Wichita, Kansas, 1922-2022,” and “Learning from the Japanese: The International Block Print Renaissance.”
