William Kent, Amer., (1919-2012), Do Your Duty, Slate Print, 1967, 52 x 39-1/4, signed, and dated in black ballpoint pen, on a heavy cotton subdued earth toned patterned fabric measuring 55 x 43-1/2. When combined with the intricate organic black patterning of Kent's design, which with it's sentiments at top and bottom subordinate to the central message, collectively evoke military camouflage. Using the format of a sympathy card to emphasize his point, we are confronted with another blunt, sombre and thought provoking anti-war statement by Kent.
