William Kent, Amer., (1919-20013), Honesty is The Best Poverty, Color Slate Print, 1972, Ed. ca. 45, 52-13/16 x 40-11/16, signed, dated and annotated Monoprint in black ink, on a floral patterned fabric with undulating bands of orange, purple, red, pink and green, 63-1/2 x 44-1/4, a small stain in white area at lower right, some minor tape reside to outer margin edges as is common. A large and impressive print by Kent, featuring his caustic subversion of appropriated greeting card sentiments to point out the moral and economic inequities present in American society in the 1970's, which seem more extreme and deeply entrenched than ever in our Covid-19 racked society today.
