Martin Lewis, Aust.-Amer., (1881-1962) "Chance Meeting", Drypoint, 1941, Pub. by Society of American Etchers, McCarron 131, Ed. 105, 10-1/2 x 7-1/2, signed in pencil, on medium cream laid paper, with full margins, 15-1/2 x 10-3/4, the original glassine hinges at top, a small stray 3/16ths thread like spec of ink to lower right margin, a few minor handling creases, otherwise a rich, pristine impression of this great print by Lewis, with the original portfolio cover, tissue, membership invitation and small typed note signed by John Taylor Arms, all in good condition. As this print is so popular, it is perhaps rare to have the original portfolio cover, which shows some edge wear, and related ephemera, which save for expected small creases to the tissue guard, is pristine.
