Published in 'Kundung: Eine Zeitschrift fur Kunst', a deluxe art review which featured expressionist works. The publication was edited by Rosa Schapire and Wilhelm Niemeyer, both art historians, and designed by Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, who also contributed several woodcuts. Rosa Schapire, a close friend of Schmidt-Rottluff, produced the standard catalogue raisonné of his prints. Siegfried Schott created six woodcuts for this 'Magazine for Art'—'Theater' is considered his masterpiece.
