Etching with Engraving, Aquatint and Stenciled Color, 1954, Ed. of 35, J. 107, 17-5/8 x 24, small but adequate margins, bottom margin possibly trimmed, toning to margin edges and upper half verso, less so recto from original backing, signed, titled and dated in pencil, on thick cream wove Murillo paper. A beautiful impression of this large and lyrical earlier city motif nocturnal abstraction by the influential 20th century Connecticut graphic master. Gabor Peterdi enjoyed a long and distinguished teaching career at Yale and elsewhere; he also authored several notable books on printmaking. Dark Horizon is reproduced full page as #107 in Una E. Johnson's early catalogue raisonne of Peterdi's prints.
