Albers, Josef. FORMULATION/ARTICULATION. Abrams/Ives-Stillman, NY,
1972. Castleman, A Century of Artist's Books, page 138. Two volumes,
gray linen portfolios, each in a gray linen slipcase measuring 21 x 16
1/2 inches, and with the original publisher's shipping carton. Number
679 of the edition of 1000, signed by Albers. Introductory text with
notes and 66 fascicles (33 in each portfolio), containing 127
silk-screened prints. Printed on Mohawk Superfine wove paper. A superb
production of one of Albers' most important and influential works. In Excellent condition throughout.
Despite the relatively large size of the edition, so many sets have either been acquired by insititutions, or broken up for the individual plates that the work is now infrequently found complete. Fine condition.
