Artist: Ohara Koson 古邨 (1877-1945)
Title: A Man Washing His Horse by the Crescent Moon Date: ca. 1910
A man washes his horse in shallow water, the crescent moon suspended above in a twilight sky. A willow tree lowers its branches, lower right. All are defined by their silhouettes and printed in shades of grey and black. A surprisingly strong and effective design for its size. This is apparently one of Koson’s earliest prints, and it was never reprinted.
Condition: Excellent impression, color and condition.
