After discussions between Titus Welliver, his representative Debbe Goldstein, and Stewart & Stewart, the artist created four maquettes conceived specifically for his first limited edition, fine art print with Stewart & Stewart. The maquettes were created on gesso prepared Dibond panels, slightly smaller than the printed image for the planned edition. Upon selection of the maquette for this initial collaboration, the selected image was digitally captured and underwent significant digital articulation including flattening the image by eliminating most of the surface texture for a more stylized presentation and a more stark figure/ground relationship. This could only be achieved with the recent imaging technology providing artists vast manipulative capabilities and expansion of their artistic vision.
After the artist's initial approval of the manipulated image file and a final printed proof, the final image file was used to create an original, limited edition fine art print on premium, Somerset Museum Rag paper (archival, 100% cotton, acid-free).
The completed image was made possible through the artist's incorporation of digital technology in realizing his personal vision, without the limitations and compromises associated with traditional printmaking techniques.
All Stewart & Stewart fine art print publications are signed/numbered by the artist and include matching signed/numbered documentation with extensive curatorial details.
