"Lola de Valence is a painting by the painter Édouard Manet in 1862 . The canvas represents a dancer dressed intraditional Spanish clothes(Lola Melea), and somehow echoes the Spanish singer , painted in 1860. These two paintings are characteristic of the painter's Hispanic period, during which the latter was strongly influenced bySpanish art and Diego Vélasquez .
Lola de Valence has the distinction of being the first work by Manet to have aroused disapproval of the suggested eroticism of his theme, thus paving the way for the more important scandals of Lunch on the Grass and Olympia "
