A superb, painterly impression, with fresh, vibrant colors, on heavy cream-wove China paper, with full margins (3/4 to 1 1/8 inches) apart from a minor loss at the top right sheet edge, in otherwise excellent condition. The artist has carefully brushed the color onto the block to evoke the delicate texture of the flower petals. Very scarce — Rice produced few impressions of these early floral woodcuts (typically less than 5).
