Third state of three, with the revisions to the sitter's facial expression and the darkening of the background. Glascow records 40 impressions known in public collections, but the actual number is greater. Printed on old laid paper. 6 1/4 x 4 5/8 inches, 161 x 120 mm. (platemark), 9 1/2 x 7 1/4 inches, (sheet). The sitter is Deborah Delano Haden, Whislter's half-sister, and the wife of the British etcher Francis Seymour Haden. In excellent condition.
