Etching and drypoint, from “Venice, a Series of Twelve Etchings” (the ’First Venice Set’)

Trimmed to the platemark as usual with the signed tab. Sheet, 12 x 8 1/4 inches. 

A vague butterfly in upper left beam. Exceeding rare, possibly unique in this

Glasgow Xth state. Glasgow unable to locate a copy. Illustrated with only a detail

reproduction from Kennedy with an identical dark man at center. A slight vertical

scratch in the image at lower right, and a few other minor flaws at sheet edges.
