In 1995, Jack Beal collaborated to create his first fine art screenprint edition at Stewart & Stewart. Tulip Angélique was drawn en plein air by the artist in the pink border garden of the Stewart's home, not far from their Bloomfield Hills, Michigan studio. The gracefully simple composition of Tulip Angélique vacillates between abstraction and realism. It is characteristically Beal -- a point of view slightly below eye level, articulate contour lines and dynamic diagonal thrust.
Tulip Angélique was screeprinted in 2 colors on premium Rives BFK paper (archival, 100% cotton, acid-free) made in France, in a limited edition of 35 impressions. As with all Stewart & Stewart publications, each impression is signed and numbered by the artist and includes complete print documentation also signed by the artist.
