L’Hiver à Paris or La Neige à Paris (original French titles)
Etching, aquatint, scraper, and drypoint on laid paper.
Reference: Bourcard & Goodfriend 128. Third state of nine according to Goodfriend; or undescribed state between the second and third according to Bourcard. Our impression doesn’t yet have the letters “L’Art”, “L’Hiver de 1879 à Paris” and the Salmon address. It does however already bear the “25” and the artist’s monogram etched in the plate.
Edition unknown, as is always the case with Buhot. Scarce in this early state. Very fine, richly inked impression, in excellent condition, with small margins (½ inch on top, ¾ inch sides and bottom) Plate size: 9 ⅜ x 13 ¾ inches.
